Right then, what or who is Al Carter?

Obviously someone bmxy,  any idea on dates/ quality etc would be appreciated.

Mostly, because I just bought one...... and I have no idea why, what, who etc,

£20 though, and its got a chainring on, so i'll probly get half my money back!!!

Just been watching the bidding. Thought about a punt myself but couldn't decide whether i like the shape of the frame or not and already have too many builds. There is one over on bmx museum and another for sale on the bay at 30 notes.

The guy on the museum couldnt find anything about the make either.... and i cant add anything useful, sorry dude

I have an 1990 Al-Carter mountain bike  it is a tange tubed 4130 cro-mo frame and forks with shimano deore dx brakes and gears .
I don't know who Al-Carter is but the name was adobted by townsend cycles on there higher specked bikes in the early 90's . We stocked a few mtb models in a shop i used to manage in Birmingham . We never sold bmx's as it was all about the mtb's back then , (and we used to sell over 200 a week  ).
I don't know if this helps but i love my mtb and it rides as sweet today as it did the day i got it

The one on ebay looks like a GT performer copy, I'd guess at 90-94 for the year based on the shape

I had one of their MTBs in about 91 from a Warehouse sale - it had really good cromo F&F and decent kit, so of course it got nicked
