SE quadangle questions
« on: May 06, 2006, 08:28 PM »
OK I just bought a quadangle.
It's not the looptail design but the later model (not alu!).
But I don't know that much about those frames.
So, can anyone tell me from what years they build those quads?
Mine has a Reynolds 531 decal on it. How can you see if it's really a Reynolds frame?
When did they make the reynolds tubing frames?
Was the seattube slot always on the front?
Any info is welcome!
Thanks.

Nice build m8.... It looks like an 82-84 model. I think they made them in reynolds and in cr-mo. I am not sure how you check the difference. My old Quad had the slit up the front of the seattube too...i have seen both front and back varieties.
Before this model they made the cr-mo looptail and in 85 they redesigned the tube layouts/front tri geometry(See Genral Lees blue quad in the museum).
 You say your selling it?

I have an 1983 Reynolds 531 Quadangle it also has the slot to the front of the seattube. I am pretty sure they only made them in 1983 only.

not alot of difference between the earlier cromo quad and the reynolds apart from material and the rear triangle tubing on the cromo quad is slightly thiner in diameter ,, not too sure if there is alot of weight difference, and slits at the front on both ... looks nice as it is if u ask me   :daumenhoch:
