3 piece crank and chainring question
« on: January 15, 2011, 03:31 PM »
Hi. Just gettin parts together for a skyway build. My other  builds all use a sugino one peice crank, so would like to try out a three piece crank as I have never had one before. It is an NOS skyway streetstyler frame which is going to be white orange and blue. So I am looking at the cranks available and have only seen new school cranks in white.
I would like to use the eclat chainwheel 35t (picture below) as its the right colour I am after but it will be running with skyway O.E wheels with a suntour freewheel. Will this work?? and will a new school crank work with an old school build?? and finaly what does this mean in terms of chain that I use??
Any advice would be much appreciated and needed  :) :)

Unless your Skyways have flip-flop hubs to run a really small freewheel your gearing will be fubar and you'll be spinning like crazy.  New school parts will fit, but look pants on a old school build, I would stick to old school parts on an old school build  :daumenhoch:.
