Polishing Redline Flight Chain Ring
« on: May 01, 2006, 11:53 PM »
I've got two Redline Flight Chain rings one a survivor from bitd and another I got from Daz when I bought his Flight cranks.   I'd like to get a chrome like finish on one of them, my mate can do it on his polishing machine but thinks the script logo will come off.  How should I polish it to give it a chrome like finish and what should I use?

Advice appreciated  :daumenhoch:

I thought about that, might take it to the guy that did my GT bits if polishing is not a practical option :daumenhoch:

it depends on condition of flight ring,i polished one for my pro class which had a few marks in it,i used wet and dry 500 down to 1200 to remove nicks and marks then carefully polished on bench polisher not applying to much pressure so i didnt loose any of the engraving came up like chrome :daumenhoch:

I got my flight chainring highly polished and it didn't affect the script. You would have to go pretty deep to lose the script

I might try it (polishing machine) with the one from my flights and not the survivor (too much sentimental value  :LolLolLolLol:) to see how it turns out.
