Redline RL140 project, Finished 28.5.2011

Won it today on ebay, Need to pick it up though.

Quick overhaul, SBD candy red, new decals and ready to race.

Built my ungrateful son a black one, He rides it but keeps moaning saying he wants a candy red one like the cruiser I've nearly finished.

Yep an RL140.

Was rougher than expected, But SBD has worked his magic on the frame and forks, They look fanfookingtastic.

And the little one likes the colour aswell.

Bit more done, Brake is stripped and bolts in vinegar but think they will need painting or replacing, Will just clean brake arms, Pretty good condition. Had to sand down and repaint headset cups and brake lever body, Going to try and polish the brake lever itself. Stripping the crank arms now, Will be painted black. Bought some new wheels, So if anyone wants some Redline 32 hole hubs ;)

Sold the little black Proline last weekend so had to get this done for Hersden Regional tomorrow.
I ordered a black chain for it but it's not arrived yet :tickedoff:
He loves it.

Like to say thanks to SBD, Cracking job as always.
And BMX-796 for the UNI seat, I wasn't convinced it would look OK until I tried it.
Breakdown of bits
F&F original, Powdered candy red
Bars & Stem original
Crank arms, powdered black by SBD
Headset original, painted black by me
Wheels new from CRC (£99), Old ones too far gone, still got the 32 hubs and rims, But it would have cost more to sort them and re-spoke them then the new wheels
Tioga Comp X  tyres, new
Pedals from shed, Didn't bother painting them as they are the 1st things to get wrecked.
Grips ODI lock on minis, from other bike, EBAY
Brake, Painted lever body by me, Just stripped and cleaned the lever, Again not worth polishing as it will get damaged. New brake blocks. Odyssey slic cable.
Lots of bolts soaked in vinegar and wire wheeled at work.
Will try and remember to get some action shots tomorrow.
Hope you like it as much as the rider
