Important plee to get Redditch, the 1st UK track rebuilt

I was at the Telford track the other day and bumped into a couple of guys Chris Taylor and Chris Day who are pushing hard to get Redditch rebuilt.

Redditch as you all know is the ground zero of oldschool racing in the UK and it would be great if we could get this, the Wembley of BMX rebuilt, you never know perhaps in time for Rad 2008.

The Chris's told me that the council have put aside £50k for the rebuild providing enough people sign up as members. There are 1000 member on here... that should be enough.

I believe Silentpartner and Jon0 are on the case and have already signed up (I believe it's free) so even if you ain't likely to use it - get your name down!!

Thing is, I don't know where or how to join myself so if we could get someone who knows (Silent, Jon0?) to post the link in this topic that would be a start. Any more info/dates for consultation meetings would also be good so we can get bodies there.

i'll see both chris's at mansfeild on sunday, and i'll find out the score and get back to you. i know theres alot of interest in getting wheels back up and running. i'm all for having a ''REAL'' midlands region derby, notts, mansfield and birmingham, as opposed to a mainly ''south yorkshire'' region that it is at present.

Nice one guys,

Redditch Premiers has reformed, the club is now afiliated to British Cycling and we have an increasing membership. We should have the website up and running soon(currently under construction)

The next meeting with the council re the track is May 11th everything has been very positive so far and we have come along way in a short time.

Membership is currently free, i have sent an attachment of a form to jazzchimp dont know wether he can upload that to this thread, i'm usless with computers so i wouldnt know how to, but once our website is up and running it should be available to upload from there or i will have some with me at Mansfield Regional on Sunday if any of you are going to be there.

One of us will post regular updates to RAD as they happen tho.

Lets restore West Mids BMX to its former glory.

I just called british cycleing and they said they posted Keiths Jamies and my licence on 19th , hopefully you have them now >?
