Snaped my chain yesterday - poped over the bars :-[ got off lightly with a sore elbow ;) .

So, whats the best/strongest chain to ride these days?

I have found that the regular KMC Kool chain is amazing.

Agree with Steev and Heywood on this...both are super reliable and the KMC is MUCH cheaper too.

Shadow Conspiracy it is  :coolsmiley: broke 3 chain tools when puttin em on  ;D one was mine and the other 2 were from two different bike shops lol i think there is a chain tool especially for this shadows. I manage to put it on using a proper old iron chain tool that is great quality not those cheap fancy sh ite these days

Cheers all.

I've ran a 1/2 linker before - snaped that too, haha, was a Shadow Conspiracy MK1 - but, yer I here that the MK2 is much better.

It was a kmc I ran that snapped, but on closer inspection it was the split link that broke, so I guess the chain is OK, but it mashed the ends joined onto the split link - was a comedy bail like, haha - but glad I didnt nack my self too much.

A friend has given me another kmc, so I've poped that on for now - not sure what to go for, if I get a new one, does standard not make a 'stronger than all chains' chain at all? haha.

RUSS, is the chain you have cassette friendly? I was told the fat type chains don't sit that good on em? I run a 25 - 9 ratio profile ss cassette hub.
