this was an absolute nightmare to strip the paint as theres so many nooks and crannies.
should have had it blasted really but theres a good sense of satisfaction doing it yourself.
all i gotta do now is pick a colour........ any ideas???

have you got any parts to build it up with? it may be easier to pick a colour if you have an idea of what parts you got, or are available.

although whiite is nice on trm's

i was thinking of going down the just polish and lacquer route but thats an effin lot of elbow grease and wasnt sure how tough the finish would be in clear and i will be using this once its done as i cant just leave them sat there, gotta go out and do some wheelies down the street on them

Looks the mutts nuts, I'd go for a polish, stickers then a nice clear coat lacquer 3 or 4 coats should do it a treat - Sikkens do the best clear coat

just got a bit of wet n dry on it to see what it will look like polished.....

hmmm....
done a bit of polishing today and its starting to look really good. it will take an effin long time to get it spot on but i think itll be worth it. ill post a pic in a while.......

started rubbing down with 240 grit wet and dry paper, then onto 800 then 1200. after that going onto autosol polish with a cloth then using a car polishing mop with autosol again. for the hard to reach areas ive been using a dremel type tool with a little buffer on it.

if your going to try this i will warn you that it is a mamoth task to undertake on a steel frame. it has taken me over 10 hours of sanding and polishing so far and ive got about 60% of it done at the moment.

you need to buy,
lots of wet and dry
lots of autosol
and get your name on the nhs list for a new elbow joint....

if i can find some batteries i will post a more up to date pic of the frame as it is now.

this is about 10 hours of work polishing and its nowhere near finished, but it should look the nuts once its finished
i now know what i want it to look like once its done but need info on coaster brake hubs, like what sort of money am i lookin at?
