need help removing bearings in BB
« on: April 13, 2010, 04:44 PM »
i dont know what type of BB i have, but im wanting to swap the BB from my old frame to my new frame :) the reason for this is because im gonna sell the bike on ebay and all i need to do is put the cranks, bearings and chain on. Any special way of doing it? i dont have any of the special tools required hence this topic. Thanks for reading! (Y)

mmmm  so youve got the crank arms off?   you need to take off the lock nut etc,  will need 2 big spanners.   unscrew all nuts from spindle, then take out.  then knock out bearings with hammer and screwdriver from inside through the other side. be careful not to damage anything!!

but im guessing with your description

fook did you take them with a box with a pin hole in and a stopwatch

it looks like you have two nuts on one side of spindle, you need take off outer nut first

It's more than likely a left hand thread aswell, so push your spanner in the opposite direction to normal.
