OS Race Pants
« on: April 12, 2010, 01:23 PM »
I'm trying to get back into racing after 'a while!' and I'm having trouble finding any OS race pants, Haro, Yes etc etc that accommodate a 'larger waist line'.
Are there any manufacturers out there that do retro style race pants for 34" waists?
If not, what are you guys wearing on the track?

Cheers.
Nick

Most people wear Troy Lee, Fly, Thor or Wulf these days.

Are there any BMX race pants with add protection in the knees/shin area or have the capability to add foam/padded inserts etc, etc

I'd really like to get rid of my Knee/shin pads but I know I will fall and hurt myself and I still want the protection.

My knees/shin pads have already got plenty of use this year.

Old School Race Pants do come up every now and then...but in my (chunky monkey) size can be a bit expensive

I would say New Stuff offers much better protection and at our age....we don't heal as quick  :'(

I use Fly Kinetic  :smitten:
I might actually build a bike this year instead of just hoarding parts :)

GEAR old school race pants are often on ebay up to size 34" (so no good for me  :-[ ) and they have knee and shin padding built in unlike new MX pants.

Check this website out:

I just ordered some gear off here, they have the most reasonably priced stuff I managed to find.  Not old school though.

I won't race in anything but mid-school deyglo/gayglo uniform.

And I seem to rip my jersey every race - (so be warned if you plan on wearing expensive old school kit).

My Aero race pants are a 32" waist and have built in knee/shin padding, and they don't look gay at all!

I think I meant AERO as opposed to gear stuff seen on the 'bay.
Camp kit was all the rage BiTD:

Ace  :daumenhoch:
Yes, a huge bike but okay for a big lump like me, and raceable with the bars lower (I think I had Revcore after I snapped the CWs).  I'd love another PL24!

That redline is sexy, I want one.
Nick I think there is still the remnants of Holyhead Bmx track in the park up by the high school and there was a skatepark there(metal surfaced...) bout 99ish.

Skate park is still there and used regularly.
Track is a single, solitary, feeble line through the grass  :'(
It is not beyond repair, just needs someone to believe.
If I get a re-tour here with work I'll try to resurect it, but will need support from the council.

Any Holyhead/Anglesey helpers?
