Guy's........i'm 6ft, 15 stone and 40 years old :'( can bikes of today handle this sort of weight and help me re-live my youth ? (pleeeaase say yes)

38 years old / 6ft / 14 stone ... never mind 'todays bikes' my DP is holding up just fine  :angel:

Mate, I've got 2 stone on you! My Old School bike flexes a fair bit but handles fine (even been jumping small doubles on it), and my New School cruiser handles it even better, even a few small trail jumps near me. Go for it :daumenhoch:

new school bikes will have no problem, im 5ft 10in and weigh just under 15 stone and my bike gets abused regulary and holds up :daumenhoch:

just dont go for a stupidly light frame, stick to 5lbs or just under :daumenhoch:

YES! ;) 

But like Glen says stick to cromo 4130, or that ox stuff standard use.  Get an Standard STA if your worried about snaping your ride- you'll be safe as.  S&M pitch forks are always good.

I'd avoid some of the newschool frames that are way light though.

I'm 5.11 16stone and 39yr - I ride a standard 250s with S&M slam bars and ody41therm forks.

Primo cranks are good and strong.

You carnt go wrong with S&M or Standard.

New school bikes are much better built, use better materials and are stronger than old school bikes.

You don't mention what kind of riding you plan to do.

Light weight is probably more of a concern for racing than freestyle.  Either way, a cro-moly frame is best.

what is your budget?  if it's anything lower than £300 i'd look at a good second hand one  :daumenhoch:

look at a few adverts and get some pointers from peeps on here? 

if you've got about £400 then speak to Stodgy at the RADSHOP and he'll bend over backwards to help you out  :daumenhoch:

I am 6,3 and getting on for 18stone, my DK and STA both feel fine under me, but I am yet to try anything other than rolling about on them.

£35 is not bad for a startup frame - the youths will rip you and tell you its too midschool and heavy  :D .  They rip it out of me and my ride is light as I think, haha.

don't know much about the 2007 model....the current or at least 2009 model says it's full cromo so if you think it looks okay and rides okay then for £100 what can go wrong?

old yes, heavy oh yes. my silverstreak may groan a bit but aint fell apart yet  :LolLolLolLol: getting brave and trying a few tricks as well. nearly bust a nut doing an endo the other night  :shocked: now that feeling took me straight to bitd ouch  :P
