finished my holy grail build, PK Ripper kcmo style
« on: November 05, 2008, 11:14 PM »
I have wanted a PK since I first laid eyes on one back in the middle school days... in 2005 I got into building bikes and was checking on ebay for bmx stuff to rebuild an old Haro I had in the garage from bitd. I wound up typing in PK Ripper and was shocked to see the high prices on framesets etc. I couldn't see myself dropping that kind of loot on one. I ended up later with a BEAT XL frame that I had sent out to The Frame Doctor for repairs that included dropout refinishing, head tube replacement, and filling of many gouges and grind marks. then he sent it out for a stunning black powder coating job. it turned out amasing after it was finished. today I finished putting it together and it looks so friggin hot! please everyone let me know what you think...

parts list:
frame: PK Ripper XL 21" TT
fork: 1"  SE Landing Gear
bars/grips/ends: SE Racing w/ ATI Pistol Pete grips, VG bar ends
stem: black DK
headset/lock: Tioga Beartrap/ VG h/s lock
brakes/lever: Odyssey Pitbull w/ VG cam, VG lever, odyssey cable
seat/guts/post: Selle San Marco, VG guts, GT post
wheels/tires: Sun Ryno rims w/ GT Mowhawk hubs & double butted stainless spokes, Comp III rubber
cranks/pedals/sprocket: GT/Profile 185s w/hop-up &Ti spindle, Crupi Ti rounds, VG 44t sprocket
padset: Zeronine
others: KMC chain, VG axle nuts, VG bullet valve caps. word!

I know I was not very creative on the seat but I was on a budget! I really wanted a Turbo or a nice Ti Svelte in black... those both command $$$!

Yeah thats a sweet mid build, love the chainwheel and the 09 pads  :daumenhoch:

but the seat is doing it no favours! Nearly as nasty as an Odyessy 777!  ???
