Brake pad recommendations
« on: January 21, 2013, 09:42 PM »
What are the best pads to use, cantilever post type, not threaded, running on black new school graphite tuffs.

I have some koolstops, but they are grey and I don't want lines.

Its only a pub bike, so stopping is nice, but not essential!!

Clear pads are the grippiest I've found. I run salt ones. But, I don't know if these  are available in post.

Yeah, I've got an assortment of clear pads, they all squeak like fook, but I can't use them because they are threaded, I need post type.

I rode it in the snow on Sunday, wiped down as much as you can after 8 pints, put in dry, but cold cave/shed, went to see on monday am, rusty water marks appearing!!!!, NOS frame, polished with wax after build, ridden twice, 1st time dry, 2nd as above.  I know the roads were salted, but bloody hell, if i'd left it a week, i'd need to use more than Mr Sheen!!!

I still love it though, and the LG's were untouched by the salt!!!
