why bmx bb's are so damn big?? race bikes and mtb's are half the diameter (if you exclude GT's idrive) so why so big?

Is there a reason?

3. cos euro's seem to fall to pieces after 10 minutes.

the one piece crank was the strong option when the initial bmx design spawned
the euro alternative was home to shit cotter pin cranks
