** Skyway STREET BEAT build ** FINISHED PICS ADDED
« on: October 13, 2010, 01:21 AM »
Ok today i thought id get ripped into my 85 streetbeat . This is going to be a rider and not a carpet queen  .   Ive battled in my head for ages on the colourscheme and parts on this but eventually decided on black and white .   I want to keep this bike clean looking without brake calipers , levers or cables ,  I havnt lost the plot tho as its got a coaster rear brake    .  Anyway today i scanned in the old decalset i peeled off and made up these custom ones instead in gloss black with a chrome outline . They are so hard to photograph but look so much better in real life .   All i need now is to buy a set of grips and a chain , oh and myybe some different pedals  .  Overall im really pleased with how its turning out and love the clean look with no brakes .   As for the padset please excuse it as its just an experiment to see what im going to make for it , its just a sticker on for now .

Spec List

1985 Skyway Streetbeat F&F
Nos Skyway EZ Bars
Nos Skyway Turbodisc
Nos Vee Rubber Ramp tyres both 20x2.125
Alloy hubbed Skyway tuffs with coaster rear
New Kashimax Aero Saddle
polished suntour arrow Seatclamp
takagi crank
SR pedals
new headset
Tange BB
Tuf neck Stem with white top
Custom black n chrome decals
black n white dice caps

Anyhow heres a few crappy indoor pics , i will get some outdoor ones tomorrow  .

Not normally a fan of Streetbeats. Too many lurid colours. This one though... Sweet.

Looks perfect overall and that paintwork looks super-shiny.  :4_17_5:  I'd lower the stem or use a flex-fighter to keep everything nice and neat.  :daumenhoch:

nice bike N13L !

like the colours you picked, nice balanced look there. If I had buckets of money wouldn't mind one of my own but for now 1/2 a bike is keeping me busy LOL

saw this (link below) while I was looking for my first frame, no good for a rider but very pretty nonetheless (can anyone ID the power disc?)
there's a whole series of pictures on there from a while back when someone apparently dug up a load of raw frames and they had a competition

cheers
