What's the difference between Halfpipe and Mini-ramp?

Been thinking about this on and off for a few weeks and I can't work it out... is there a difference?

So a mini is like a 1/3 pipe...... if you know what I mean...

A halfpipe just gets to Vert at the top...?

is it not mini ramps and vert ramps, with them all having longish flat bottoms?

the you get a concrete half pipe, like at rom (often called the bullet or capsule. yuck) with no flat bottom at all, and every wall comes at you pretty quick

Let the sermon begin.........

In the beginning there were halfpipes. As previously mentioned, just imagine a pipe cut in half. No flat bottom, and all the way to vert. They evolved into vert ramps, or if you're very old school, 'hollywood' pipes. These are simply halpipes with a true flat bottom to them. Halfpipe would still be an appropriate decription. Personally, I prefer vert ramp.

Then, even more evolution came to pass and low versions of vert ramps were built. These were called mini ramps. No vert.

During similar times, an inbetweeny ramp got built. Typically 7 or 8 ft high, but not vert. These are midi ramps.

So,

Mini, Midi and Vert.

Halfpipe= two opposite facing vert ramps connected by a flat bottom. Mini-ramp = the same or by itself with no vert.
