US to UK shipping question
« on: August 25, 2008, 07:15 PM »
How much has it cost you guys to have a complete bike shipped from the US?

I'm asking because I'm thinking about selling a bike but I'm not sure yet if I'll part it out or not. If I sell it complete, I want an idea of what my UK shipping costs might be. Thanks guys!

I think with USPS it's around $60 and then you get stung by customs here on the other end sometimes. But some people charge more like $100. Hope that helps  :daumenhoch:

My green 95 Holmes. :'( I'd like to get as much as possible for it, but I'm thinking that'll only happen if I part it out. Sure would be easier to sell it complete. I'm still trying to figure it out...

A  shame you are selling it, Ryan. Such a cool looking Holmes. Hope you're selling it to fund another old S&M project  :-\

Best of luck with it!

I know, it's a bummer. I hate to have to let go of it but I need the cash.  :-\  I'm super stoked on the build I did for it. It's a bitchin' bike. I hate to take it apart let alone sell it.

The last complete bike I had shipped from the US was a GT Performer and that cost $150, Airmail.  $60 is usually the price for shipping a frameset :)

There's a motomag complete on ebay (220273742534) with shipping to the UK being $100. I've paid the same to get a bike shipped from the states to the UK before and my friend paid the same for a complete bike to be shipped over to here, I guess it varies depending on who you use? or whereabouts in the U.S you ship from?

yeah this is about right. USPS prices rose a bit recently, so 60-80 bucks to ship a frame  or thereabouts

some people are still charging much less, guess they haven't heard about the price hike. That might put a lot of people off bidding maybe best to split the bike? I was bidding on one the other day with $50 shipping US to UK ,maybe he lowered the postage so as not to lose potential bidders? I did think that was exceptonaly low

When I was over there a few weeks ago it cost me US$75 to ship a mountain bike frame from NC to OH, so I reckon $100 to ship a complete bike to the UK is pretty good.

Yeah ,think it must vary
Here's two with only £25 postage!
290254807086
320283334669

I've paid various prices for shipping  items from the states to here ,sometimes ask two different US ebay members for a quote for shipping the same or a similar item to here, they each get an estimate from a postal service, one will come back with something totally outrageous and the other will be perfectly reasonable, even cheap so I dunno?
