How tough are old school hubs?
« on: August 25, 2008, 01:29 PM »
Ive got a few old SR hi flange hubs in a few different colours. I really like the look of them and am thinking of using them as part of my new wheelbuilds for both new school bmx, 26" dirt jumper AND my fixie road bike.

Can you imagine anything going wrong here? Do hubs actually ever break when ridden hard? Can they take high tension spokes/radial lacing ok?

Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

I have old suzue sealed hubs on my cruiser, no probs what so ever!

Prob weakest spot would be the spindle, but I've never had any trouble.
