This was my first BMX, bought for me by my parents in November 1983, out of the local paper.
Was preowned when we got it and was the bike which bit me hard and infected me with the BMX bug...
Always knew it was a mongoose, but never actually knew for sure which frameset it was. (Assumed it was a motomag, but with custom parts).
Spec when I got it was as follows:
This frame, painted red.
These tange forks, nickel plated
Mongoose gold stem
Elina UL seat & post
Gold DC MX1000's with black Tech III's
Mongoose grips which I swapped for Black 'shroom II's
Mongoose snowflake chainwheel
Red Skyways with steel hubs.
A lot of the bits are now gone, tho some I still have. I'm hoping to do a bit of a resto on it this summer.
I bought a set of Motomag stickers off that dude on Vintage who does the repro mongoose sets.
Are they the correct stickers for it?
