Steve. Thanks for posting the pics. I wouldn't have recognized pepi-  not without his Vincent or Ammaco gear on. The first pic looks like Duran Duran on holiday.
I'm always keen to hear about Pepi. Really liked him as a rider... and I once got a "go" on his bike

When you next see him, ask him if he remembers Fiona Hay from Carlisle.

You need to get him to sign up to rad as a member again. I still can't believe that's pepi. Look more like Simon le Bon.
That was me who sent you the pepi Interview Orb

That's the funniest thing I've heard for a while.

Pepi doesn't own a computer so I doubt he'll be on here too often.

Very sad news on the passing of both Pepi & Neil Ruffel.

This isn't much help Kim but was posted at the time...

"It is with sad regret that we report the recent death of UK BMX legend Pepi Winder. Pepi was an early pro on the U.K. BMX scene, riding and competing in events since the early '80s. He rode for Skyway and Vincent amongst others, and was still riding as hard as ever in the current age, attending contests and jams throughout the U.K. and riding his local skatepark weekly.

Dig contributor/friend of Pepi, Jamie Cameron e-mailed earlier today. Before rumors begin to circulate, he asked that we post the following statement.

"I really didn't know what to say about Pepi's death since I don't think that anyone has yet to really comprehend that he's gone... Pepi passed away last Wednesday. We don't know the exact circumstances of his death (and probably never will.) He certainly didn't want to die; he was so happy about the new park in Crawley and rode there for eight hours on Bank Holiday Monday... Pepi will be sadly missed by his girlfriend Tracey and the many friends he made during his two eras of riding."

Rest in peace Pepi Winder, and thanks for your hearty, life-long influence on the U.K. BMX scene. You will be missed."
