Title: How hard is it to not rush buying parts?
Post by: MartyC on October 26, 2009, 01:20 PM
I don't know about you guys but I am finding it really hard to not rush buying parts for my latest build.  I keep seeing so many parts I need and keep thinking they will never come up again (of course not; buggar that they will  ::) ).  I have spent nearly $500au in the last two weeks and know I'll be spending more at the end of next month when I get paid again.

One good thin I suppose is that I'll be having to get some chrome work done on a heap of bits and maybe some anodising (to restore faded anno) which may keep me focused on not buying anything  :D.

When I started this project I said to myslef that I would take my time with this one  ::).

Here's a sneak preview of it still wrapped up...

She's a keeper I'm afraid  :).

Those boxes are full of bike parts, all of them

That's a pair of bars, a Z-Rim and my Robinson RSR to the left  ::) I really should get them built up soon  :D

i always find that all the bits you need seem to come up at once so i tend to grab em then.at the mo im having bit of a lean period sourcing parts so its taken the edge of the whole building side of things.i guess when bits do turn up again i will snap them up in a frenzy as per usual telling myself that they'll never come up again!!im kicking myself for not grabbing some tuff pedals about 3 months back when i had a t.a build in mind even before id sourced a t.a,im now kicking myself!! :'(

Better up that to $700au this month, plus decals at another $80au so that's nearly $800au  :-[  Just as well the Aussie Dollar is strong against the pound at the moment  ;D

it is hard mate but you should never rush to buy parts they WILL always come up again as people sell off builds or change their minds etc etc can sometimes be a costly mistake to make when you get carried away :idiot2:
