Felt like going for a ride today...so I finally built up my '84 Pro Class. Nobody even gives a second look when I ride around...obviously no bike enthusiasts near me...!!! ::)

Are the photos a good example of what the black chrome really looks like, or does it show up lighter in photos (i.e. darker in real life)?
-
Tom, from one 'Goose enthusiast to another, that is fabulous :smitten:

Thanks again guys...!!! :daumenhoch:
This is a good question Mike. Yes...the Black Chrome color depends totally on the lighting...!!! Here are some more original Black Chrome pics with different lighting.

Now thats just showing off :'(

Mike - we've posted before on here about Radster FHMreader's ability to do the smoked chrome effect over normal chrome. Obviously it's not technically correct as it's an overcoat, but looks the mutts nuts all the same. Here's the last one he did for me...... :smitten:
(JimmyP did the decals of course)

I freakin love that PC mate. Them wheels set it off beautifuly :daumenhoch:
-
Yes Spen, I spoke to FHM reader earlier this year about getting my new frame done. He says I need to get it chromed first then send it to him to do the black over chrome effect. However, the place I'm sending it to for chroming reckons they can do black chrome, so not sure which route to take - get it all done at the same place, or send to FHM Reader.
-
Mike - the finish from Mark is fantastic, but it's not going to be anything like having the dye in the chrome plate as it's like a plastic coating.
If you can afford it, I'd definitely have the black chrome done in one go fella - it will be the mutts :daumenhoch:
Anytime you want to have a look at the finish, let me know and we'll see if we pass each other on the road and I'll chuck mine in the boot :coolsmiley:

Beautiful bikes .. always loved the non gusset geese (just because i remember them more)
I had a nice pro class years ago with some lovely bits, but someone offered good money
and like a tit i sold before it was at least built.
The mongoose head radpads are awesome,
Ive had a few calis and grand prix. (just knocked about on em).but just got a nice cheap cali f/f so im back in goose mode,
might do something original with this.
Oh Newyork.. did you once live in Sheffield? or did i dream that..
-
What's the deal with the forks on those Geese? When I look at Spen's bike, the forks look straight up and down with no rake but Atari-Agers have a lot of rake from where the legs meet the steerer tube down to the dropouts. Which one has bent forks or were there two different sets of forks used on the Pro Class? :-\
-
Pro class forks do rake forward alot.. my guess is spens arn't pro class forks.
-
Wow, i love a good 'Goose :smitten:

Lee if you remember we all pointed out your pro class was not a pro class dodgy rear brake bridge if i remember correctly but if you want to dream that you once owned the best ever race frame from the 80s you carry on :daumenhoch:
