Title: 1983 Mongoose Pro Class Show Chrome
Post by: jimmyp on July 20, 2009, 09:25 PM: As soon as i saw this add i knew i had to build a stock 1983 Mongoose Pro Class, so here it is :daumenhoch:

Only difference to the add is the grips (prefer the black Mongoose ones) and the rim tape, looks better with blue coz it brings out the blue in the pro class decals. :daumenhoch:

I think i prefer the pro class coz it was more my ere and the one bike i wanted to get as a kid but my mam could'nt afford it so i got a supergoose instead :daumenhoch:

Not sure which is best to ride as i have'nt finnished the rupe yet :-\ :-\

Prefer the mongoose grips m8 and the rim tape looks better with the blue. It brings out the blue in the pro class frame decal, trust me ive tried it with black, just a bit to bland :daumenhoch:

Can't beat a good lookin' Goose, and that's one of the finest I've seen for a while.

Thrown a bit of a spanner in though, as I'd thought of going with a 'black chrome' finish for my Pro Class, but looking at that thing of beauty.........

Nope...you've got the correct stem on it. The original Pro Class came with the Team Mongoose stem that you have on it right now...no need to change...!!! 8)

The 1st ad posted which you based your build on has Tech 3 levers...this part spec list has Tech 2 style levers.

I guess it just depends on what magazine/article/month you're looking at...LOL. My original 1982 Black Chrome has all of it's stock/original components and matches the BMX Action spec article above exactly.
