My son Harrison has a gyro on his bike and the brake is crap. I've put a Odyssey Modulever on and a Snafu Mobeus. Got a Evo 2 brake on it's way from Pickle, Is it worth converting to a twin cable set-up when I fit the Evo 2.
I know it probably needs setting up right but I've had a bit of a play with it and it's still crap. Anyone got any advice?

its all in the set up mate,it can be frustrating but your components should dial in really well..
you didnt want to hear that ..

Is there a instruction booklet anywhere :LolLolLolLol:
Think a visit to rOm and 2bob is needed.
Or bring it up to you in September Dan as I'm back at centreparcs :daumenhoch:

No reason why your setup should be bad dude, defo go with the brake bastard (london mod) as 2 is better than one eh ;) When setting up a dual lower make sure the mobeus is sitting on top of the lower tabs by screwing out the cable adjusters until it sits flush to give you the maximum amount of travel in the gyro setup. Fit the top cable & dial in once all the lower half is provisionally set up. What brake/rim is he currently using Gary?

Pads are clear ones, caliper is just bog standard with bike as is the rim. Although most of the black has now worn away.

its excatly what i use

IMO its well worth using the london mod if your using a dual cable lever as it gives you dual cables from the lever to the brake, if your using only a dual upper or lower there's still a single cable section somewhere in the set up.

Stodgy fitted a london mod on my Kink,
It stops on a Dime! even with tuffs :daumenhoch:

TRy cleaning up the rims sidewalls with some steel wool....
-
i find brake and clutch cleaner works well on rims as gets rid of all dirt and grime

its excatly what i use
and it stops dead.
doesn't your upper split into two at the lever too Tone? :daumenhoch:

Get a pair of Stodgy's cheap clear pads, then give me a shout and we'll put it all together :)
