Right gents, moved this from chat as I thinks its best off in here.......
who has one of the titled GT's that we can do a measurement comparison on...............and compare frame serial numbers......
I have a small frame with a Pro denoted stamp with a thin down tube, straight cut top tube.....so it aint an expert and am doubting its a Pro Mini cause it has a US BB
Does anyone know if GT made a Mini Pro with a US BB??
They did make a Standard frame but would like someone else to measure up their's to see how it stacks up please and compare the serial.....
Cheers
Lee

I have a small GT frame but I think mine is stamped as a JR (cant remember its in the garage somewhere), its not a US BB though.

I have an expert, original 82 nora cup stickers
2 stamp on dropout
six digit serial no. starting 383xxx
march 83, or 83 august, frame 3xxx
hand stamped factory serial, i.e. not in a straght line
17 inch top tube, measured centre-centre along tube
10.5 inch seat tube, from top of bb shell to top of seat tube.

Yeah, same bike at the bottom of page one in the museum on here....just need the serial and frame size to make sure and the owner has only posted on here twice :-[

So, if the frame has a "4" stamped near the frame number, does that mean it is a "PRO"?
Also, is there any meaning as to the location of the serial number?
I have one that is inside the drive side rear dropout.
It is an unstamped TT, and the serial number is 783... (July 83) There is no other branding anywhere else (ie, no "GT" logo's)
Cheers, Ad

Yeah Ad I would say the 4 is PRO and 2 is Expert......your right on the month/year above and it shouldn't have any GT stamps anywhere.....
I think this little one I have is a Pro (4 on the dropout) but a mini Pro, US BB, slightly longer TT than a mini but lower slung than a Nora Cup Pro.....
Looks stunning and will fit in a treat but I just wanted to make sure I have the correct spec, wheel sizes, bars cranks etc so its correct......I have seen larger frames built lately with 1 3/8th wheels on :uglystupid2:
Cheers for the resposne Ad

Its quite funny, as Used to know a lot of info on GT numbers and specs. Just goes to show, a little less interest combined with a 38 year old brain, just how bad our memories get.
Hows it going Lee? Long time no speak.
Hope you are ok dude.
Take care, Ad :daumenhoch:
