Title: Mongoose Blue Max Year ID please, now with photos.

just got a Mongoose Blue Max frame, im wire wooling it now  ;D

wondered if you could take a look at the serial number and ID it for me please ?

 :D M4-J3410  :D

it is the frame like the cali without a gusset  :daumenhoch:

found an `83 stamped on the underside of the brake bridge  :)

so i guess thats the year  ;)

after a quick polish and with some Goose forks to hold her up  :D

look like curtis forks, rather than goose to me.

should be the same as the trimoly cali frame

M4 J 3140

M - Merida taiwanese bike builders

4 - 1984

J - poss month september

3140 - build ID

i'll have to have a looky under my brake bridge too now  :)


these were available through Halfords as completes

its got the original wheels rebuilt and back on now

love to get one of the gussetted versions too

Trying some white skyways on it but need some blue tyres too me thinks :D

They are more like Curtis than Mongoose.  The drop outs on Curtis are a flat plate like yours and the dropouts on Mongoose are slightly diamond shaped, also the bottom of the fork leg on Curtis are angled like yours and the Mongoose fork legs are straight cut.
