This is creamy. He joined last week.

He plans on racing OS this year and general BMX tomfoolery!!!
These 2 BMX's were given to him for nothing.
One says its a DP Firebird Delta II and the other a YAMAHA BYZ.
He wants to restore them both and race the Delta II.
He would be very interested to know any information that you have on these bikes that might aid in restoration etc, etc.
Were these mass produced or very limited in numbers?
He asked me to post this Topic as he is clueless with computers and was born lazy!!!!
Anyway, here's some pictures :-
DP Firebird Delta II

Check out the bent stunt pegs!!!
Thank you.

My 1st ever UK BMX was a Yamaha BYZ401 (the model he has there). There were 3 models the 301, 401 and 501, the 501 had some really nice parts on it as standard (Shimano DX cranks etc).
I have some adverts from the 80's regarding the Yamaha, I will dig them out.
Here is a picture of me on my Yamaha in 82 at Solent Spitfires track in Southampton. How cool was I? :LolLolLolLol:

That Delta II is a bit on the rare side :daumenhoch:
-
He might sell/trade them both if the deal is right.
He is after an OS Racer and a NS bike.
The DP doesn't look too bad in the flesh.
He's going to give it a good polishing today.
He said he wants to use the DP for racing but you never know what offers come along.
He has been contacted by 2 people. One Interested in the DP and the other the Yamaha.
Hopefully his ride is sorted by the Preston round of the OS Series. Coppull is only 2 weeks away and he might not be sorted by then.

That Delta will be lovely when done, i would get those f*ckin pegs off and check out the dropouts though, hope it hasnt bent those as well. :(
-
the delta would make a good os race bike.
I'd concentrate on that.
-
why dont i get given stuff :(
how does it happen
do you walk along the street and hear " ere mate , want these , no questions asked "
-
as others have said, the Delta II will be well nice! it's great being given stuff..........my mate gave me his old Goose for fook all! it's well cool! :daumenhoch:
-
He wasn't given the bikes as such.
He went onto a Free Stuff website. That bloke advertised on it saying he had 2 bmx's he wanted to get rid of.
Creamy just replied to his advert.
Lucky Bar Steward!!!!!
-
extremely lucky!!! but welcome on in Creamy!
is he coming along on the 10th Moley?
-
the chances eh :-[
reminds me of a mate who bought a 4 speed box for his escort that needed a rebuild for £40 , the guys complaint was it was whining , mate took the cover off and was confronted with £600 worth of quaifes finest straight cut gears
the dp looks damn fine

He's want an OS bike to race and a NS bike.
If he gets NS bike before Creation then he will come.
He seems pretty keen. There is another lad who wants to race too so he might be up for Creation to.
He will either do up the DP and use funds off the Yamaha to finance it or Sell/Trade both bikes to fund an OS and NS bikes.
-
id keep the delta and get a coyote :)
-
A coyote is probably too expensive for him.
He is cheap!! :LolLolLolLol:
-
if he seriously wants a NS ride then bring him along on the 10th and he can have a go on any of ours there.........might sway him into buying something that will last him? :daumenhoch:
-
He's definitely keeping the DP Firebird Delta II and racing it for OS.
Hopefully he will have it ready for Coppull.
He's interested in going to Creation too!!!
-
Creamy has been polishing!!!
