Title: Crushed bars.
Post by: Lawrie on December 11, 2005, 09:55 AM
I saw a set of VDC bars on the bay recently which had been crushed where the stem tightens onto the bars. I've never seen that before and was wondering how that happened. Is there such a thing as overtightening the stem? I would have thought that BMX bars would be built to withstand that.

yep its common, remember packin out cw bars with copper as they seemed to crush quite easily, but once they are crushed they never tighten up properly again.
