my company has very good relations with tioga my boss has been working with them since the 80's and tioga have said they would reproduce all there o/s stuff to the original spec in a small number, i just want peoples views on this :daumenhoch:
-
tell em to get some comp pools with amber wall knocked up then ;)
-
will do :daumenhoch:
-
i think they should nt bother , the whole point of the o/s builds is thebuying and selling of old parts, restoring etc then building.If all other firms done this it just would nt be the same, popping to halfords or other bike shop for a part for ya o/s build. Would these parts be classed as retro or old school?

Comp 3s with amber walls would be good too, or am I the only one who dont know where to get them?
-
yeah my thoughts were that as well i can understand a few tyres and stuff but this is why i was getting peoples views on the matter
-
waxins word for me "re issue"
-
chain ring bolts. in colours.

re issue i like that, im not to sure what to do its in my court basically the numbers would not be big but you never know what big companys will do etc but i know it would make builds cheaper and would only be sold to old school dealers etc not just any bike shops the specialist only......its a tuff one for me
-
skyway have done it and they got responded to ok
-
I think most peeps would still buy the old stuff anyhows
-
tioga have always been good in marking a new tyre as such
comps from comp2s up to 8s now i think we all no the difference
if is marked as a newer number you cant go far wrong.
if they want early ones they can still pay for what they want.

i do agree and they are not original spec but the tioga will be il leave this running for abit to get views and such like but im kinda with you abit dude but i can see the + side too

Im not really into building show bikes so I cant really comment on if a bike is a "real" old build or not. I do know that there are quite a few people who ride their old bikes and parts like tyres wear out. I dont think show bike builders or OS racers wanna see NOS Comp3s being ridden on a track, and most amber/skin wall copies dont even look close to right. Even a newer "re issue" label on the right compound Comp3 would be great.

yes a very good point. for people like me who ride the old school sometimes its hurtfull to ride a new set of mx1000 coz they cost so much etc etc and they are date stamped and stuff but these will be re issue ( ;) ) and not costing the earth so it good for a ride is that making sense?

i totally agree with you man its mainly going to be rider stuff only people who want show bikes could get the original stuff but there is the people on a lower budget who want to restore but find it hard to pay for stuff

thanks dude :daumenhoch: with the cost of living and stuff some people find it harder and harder to keep up with living and maybe this stuff would keep old school alive more? i dont know? the cost are very high for some parts and out of reach you can see that in some peoples bikes were they have skimpt abit etc im still not sure yet though
-
Sounds damn good, love Tioga stuff. Well got to be:
* Seat clamps all colours
* Cranks / Max-Flo etc.. (got 2 of these in the chromers as I type!)
* Tyres
* Anything else Tioga!!!!!!!
Nice one :daumenhoch:
-
tyres 20" & 24" :daumenhoch:
-
so it seems this is being responded to ok then, if i do go ahead with it i could do with people letting me know what tioga parts they did incase i cant remenber all the parts and stuff and itl make the guys job at tioga alot easier aswell as much info as poss please guys :daumenhoch:

Was all the stuff Tioga sold made by Tioga?
-
the tyres were made by chen ching for tioga but it was tioga who designed them etc most of this kinda stuff came from the same few factorys in japan, I have an 80's source book for manufactures here in the office and its ace it has all the stems bars etc etc that were speced on japan made 80's bikes and you can see why different companys sometimes had the same stuff on the bikes or same frames and stuff
-
it makes sense in a way to repro tyres and stuff as it means the bikes can be used-this kind of thing perishes with age regardless of storage-original stuff will still command high prices due to its age and rarity-but if they want to do a rhino frame i'd be up for that! :)
-
if the same company, makes the same product, using the same equipment ,
in the same way, are they not the same?? :D :D
its a bit like the cadburys wispa. is that different now?? ??
also if tioga released a load of these tyres and told us they had found a
old batch of them in a cupboard somewhere wouldn't we all just snap them up :shocked:
its just another slant on it :daumenhoch:

I'm in :daumenhoch: everything Including frames :daumenhoch:
