Guys,
I want to restore my Hutch trickstar forks, they are chrome and a bit scratched, Ive got a painted black frame. so I want to strip the chrome forks and just paint black.
Im gonna try miself, any advice on the easiest and cheapest way, products etc.

best advice if you want the chrome removed first,go to a chrome platers
they will drop it in a tank of soda and run an electric current over it releasing the chrome plate.
if the chromes not to bad then you can just key it up then paint.

Probably a stupid question, but keying, you mean filling/undercoat?

Or get them sand blasted, there is a place just up the road from you who will do it :daumenhoch:

Best thing to do mate is Key them up (rub them over with wire wool so the paint takes to it better) and then send to Super Bike Dan on here. He does the best black i have ever seen. ;)

there is a place in tolworth that can shotblast the chrome off, they are powdercoaters but tbh their painting aint the best, but they can strip stuff no probs :daumenhoch:

Think they charged £15 for a Frame & Forks :)
Its the best way to get a good finish.
