From my limited knowledge and according to a serial number guide on bmxmuseum.com that serial gives the following info:

Serial number breaks down to 4/83/12/1249

4: This is a pro size frame
83: Built in '83
12: December

and was frame no 1249 that year.

Had a quick sniff about and the decals on the frame now are '89.
Not sure if they were introduced in '89 but they're in the '89 catalogue.

'83 repos are definitely available, in fact I'm sure one of the GT heads on this forum could sort you out.  :)

BTW... BARGAIN!

If you wanted to replace the tange forks there are undrilled GT santa ana forks from '82 on ebay right now:

pretty much like this

Those are the ones available from www.bmxmuseum.com but someone here might have better repops or a source closer to home.

Those decs are slightly too late. They should have "santa ana california" under the GT logo.

Doesn't Bill Curtin from Vintage have the license to repop these "officially"?  Think I've seen them on the bay and they look very good  :daumenhoch:

an 83 deserves to have the 82 nora cup really and the fork decals should be slightly shorter than the downtube one.

8 quid FFS thats a bargain in anyones book - a sticker set will cost you more than that - in fact theres a frame only on the bay with under a day to go that at a hundred squid - and i bet it tops that - well done mate - i've paid a lot lot more than that for mine  :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch:

They not that good then Pete?  Was thinking of a set to go on my GT24 if I get it re-powdered in black to give it a proper old school look  :-\

yep, was just looking for an image to approximate the decals though.
benice is right about the fork decals/nora cup angle I reckon.
