Nice work Diesel :daumenhoch:
Those aren't cruiser bars on the Revcore though are they? They look massive!
-
Thanks all :daumenhoch:
I'd have to agree on the bars:
They are a bit of an anomaly, not quite sure if they are 100% VDC - everything about them other than the width at the stem seems right. They almost fall into pit bar teritory.
That said I thought I'd give them a try, although I think they'd be beter suited to a 20"er, just didn't have any spare chrome bars to swap out.
-
Top work on both particularly the Jag. :daumenhoch:
-
Lovely Jubbly :4_17_5:
Smashing, Great, Super

Cool Dan :coolsmiley:
as usual :daumenhoch:
-
Diesel dude, awesome bikes and effort with the 'studio' shots!
Question and perleeeze don't take this the wrong way fella, your builds look super cool but aren't 'era correct'. Is is just that you want to build what you want to build your way (and they do look very cool that way) or are you one of the enthusiasts that has gotten into it later?
Example, the 'core is late eighties but some of the build is early eighties.
Genuinely just curious.
-
Clive you are right the f&f are late 80's
But for me it doesn't really matter, if I like a part and it feels right I just do it, as I always have. When I was a kid, I'd mix a race frame with freestyle parts and vice versa.
I don't really have a rule of thumb, when I build I just think its needs something gold or red there, then go and find something suitable.
If you've ever seen the Kos Kruiser I built - its an 81 f&f with 26" proclass rims from about 85.... but I have to say it worked and looked like they were made for each other.

That's a cool mentality, there seems to be a lot of 'era nazis' in this OS scene, just wondered why you did what you did! I want to build my late nineties floval with an OS flavour so it will look old but ride new...... THATS IF I COULD FIND SOME BLOODY GOLD RIMS ANYWHERE!!!!!!
-
Well cool fella :4_17_5:
-
:4_17_5: Awsome, 8)

Very Attttttractive :4_17_5:

The Jag is also sweet as a nut ! Interesting Padset too, not seen one of those before ???
good work !
-
lovin the jag
-
not bad for u dan ..... :daumenhoch:
-
lovely builds... attention to detail is spot on. Those VDC bars are strange but somehow really work. Would be interesting to see it with regular crowser bars though just for comparison.
top work!
-
Diesel, a little bird told me today that that Jag used to be Darren Woods when he rode for Raleigh? He'll want that back mate i'm sure! I'd love to find one of my old bikes, that would be so amazing!
-
Yes I believe this is true.
Clive: your welcome to contact him and let him know I have it, as I don't have any contact details for him.
I'm always open to an offer were 'true sentimental value' is at stake.

I'll let him know dieseldude but you'll have to paint it Raleigh colours again for him to be interested! :LolLolLolLol:
Just kidding, he'll love it i'm sure...he's just got back his actual Skyway out of a mates garage so he's got something to smile about!
So anyone got my 86 Zeronine? I've still got all my racekit, now if i could just lose two stone......
-
Remember seeing you at Buckmore on that Zeronine and with all that trick black kit on clive.........looked the mutts nuts ;)
-
great bikes dude, but somehow i feel the tuffs and some of the parts from the revcore would better suit the jag, and vice versa...
-

I loved that gear, I reckon it was ahead of it's time! I've not got many pics of it though, this one is from Bercy, i'd just got my Revcore but hadn't got the kit yet. If anyone has the BMX Racer and Freestyle that has the 1986 Slough Worlds in, please let me know as I had a zeronine piccy in there and no longer have it. ta.

Yes and look how fresh those son lite hubs look! Tom Lynch is having them on his Patterson rebuild......
-
Alright Dan didn't take you long to finish them?
I bet those pics are taking at your work?
Now you must let me try revcore out next time I am passing
good work buddy
-
Clive was that bercy pic from 85 or 86?
-
Hey Lee, surprise, surprise good to see you here!
Congratulations on your race results this season, that took some serious effort considering the injuries you talked about :daumenhoch:
Ah the photos..... I just borrow the kit at the weekends, which reminds me, really should take it back sometime.
anytime you want to ride the revcore just give me a little notice and i'll bring it in with me.
Just one question - with or without the funny bars?
I think you might like the next build - finally going to build something new school.
take it easy
Dan
