That makes at least three then, there's a kid gets down a local jump spot near me with parts off his dad's old bike and some of them parts are a set of profiles - they look like the ones I had bitd but I'm fooked if I know if they are Gen 1, Gen 2 or what  :LolLolLolLol:  OH, and he won't sell them as I asked and he said his dad would "go fcuking mental if I did"  :LolLolLolLol:

I know! I was in the shed looking for an MTB stem for my wifes bike and found them! ha ha. They were in a bag with a redline flight ring and a pair of silver DXs.

Be good to actually see a pic of Gen 1's coz those Gen 2's look exactly like I had bitd and what this lad has on his ride  :daumenhoch:

Yep, so cheap it was like the feeling you get looking down from a great height!  :2funny:

It was weeks before I "got into" the OS thing and then found out how much they go for. After I sold my full set, I saw a mashed single Aero speed crank arm go for more than I got!!! Oh well.

Nearly helpful, but I still don't know if the ones Bill posted the pic are gen 1 or gen 2 as it's bloody hard to tell from that thread or am I being stoopid?  :LolLolLolLol:

That was loads of help. Thanks. I have got Gen2 and Gen3, both with the same stickers as bills set.

The sticker indentation is the give away. No indentation = Gen 1.  Bills cranks have the sticker indentation so they are Gen2

Here's a version to confuse everything ! lol .

A square section like Gen 1 ( more square section than Gen 2 ) but possibly with the Decal indentation , maybe a Gen 1 1/2 ? .

Gen 2 ..........................

That little report said that the Gen1 and Gen2 were identical apart from the sticker indentation.

That makes those Gen2, same as Bills ones in the box (and the one I found at the weekend)

Look a Bill's Gen 2 , they are more rounded section ( edges ) .

Modified my post above with Gen 2 pic .

I gotta say, I think I agree. Also, the two I found look like they are Gen 2 (slightly rounded) and Gen 2.5 (boxed but with indentation). They sure dont look like gen3 (same as modern ones but with no engraving and with a sticker indentation). I will get pics of them this week.

Someone needs to do a propper lineup picture of all types. Now, who wants to "lend" me their gen1s?

OK, I changed my mind. I think the gen1 are the same box shape as gen2. I think that the photo of Bills Gen2s just dont really show it to well. I also think that the pics posted before are just a set of boxey gen2 and a set of rounded gen3. The Gen3 are the same shape at GT stamped profiles, but without the stamping and with a sticker indentation.

I checked out mine last night. I have got some box shaped Gen2s, and some Gen3s. I compaired the Gen3s to some GT stamped profiles I have got and they are the same. Not as rounded as new ones (a bit square) but not as square as Gen2s.

Here are some pics of mine:
