Hi everyone,
This is really good news!
I have called Gavin from the local council a couple of times today, but so far no news whether we will be able to use it.
At least we now know it is no longer a "building site"
Watch out for more news later today regarding a possible "training day" (With any luck as soon as Sunday - depending on what the council say!)
Unfortunately it will be without a compressor - so no gate practice yet
-
cool, Neil and i were going to go over there sunday anyway :)
-
You will not be alone!
Looks like there will be a little crowd there. Be even more if we get permission from the council - if we do you will have to wear helmets when riding the track!
-
i always wear 2 helmets :P
-
Sorry everyone!!
Unfortunately the council do not yet have ROSPA approval so cannot let anyone use the track.
I am told it will be open NEXT Saturday 26/11/05
Lets keep our fingers crossed. (If it does open I will try to get a compressor for that weekend so we can use the gate too!)
I believe the local press will be there too, and it's tree planting day so please come along even if it is just to show the locals what caring resonsible people we all are.
:D

Christ man, how many date has it had now?
Councils suck donkey balls.

As Rooonga says we shouldn't be there this Sunday but if we were allowed to I, reckon we'd be there from c11:00hrs. ;) But that's only if it was OK. ;) ;) Anyone else planning to not be there this Sunday?? Humps

Having spoken to Rooonga tonight we suggest that people keep away from the track this weekend as we are informed that it is officially opening next Saturday. In the morning is a 'tree planting' session to keep the local Greens happy and we hope to have the air-ram gate running to show the locals what its all about.
The track is fenced off and to access it would require scaling the fencing - something the locals have down to a fine art. Access is tantamount to trespass.
Bottom line here is - KEEP AWAY TOMORROW. Thank you. Alan Humphrey, Chairman, Barking & Dagenham BMX Club

oh well, looks like we'll be there next weekend then
-
So does this mean its back on for the regional on Dec 11th ???

No Chris the Council don't want us holding a full meeting for at least a month - we must obey. Humps

Even tho we werent sposed to ride sunday doh, :)the track is cool. Tho i need to get a bit fitter to gat round more than once lol. The locals seem to be treating the place well at the moment, One of the builders who came to have a look with his kid said the small lock on the the door had been ripped off. Thats why the gates were open. But they're going to put a much burlier lock on so that should sort out that problem. Still cant wait for the 1st meeting there and get an idea of peoples thoughts on the track. I know there are 1 or 2 things people may like to see changed in the future, but lets get racing. :)

Hoping to get there on Saturday with cruiser and 20" if I can fit it in between being "dad the taxi"
