Title: Question from adeshere
Post by: billstup on November 06, 2005, 11:47 PM
Sweet looking Haros up there!!

The 1988 Master. This was my first decent freestyle frame which is now rebuilt with more year specific parts. Both drop outs of the original chrome plated forks were cracked and had to be replaced with a black one from a Haro Sport my friend once had. Everything else you can pretty much figure out looking at the picture.

Ok, this next bike here is the one i am actually still riding and practicing on. It's the 1991 mid-school Haro "ground" Master as it was titled. The first batch of 1991 ground Master frames came with peg bosses at the end of chainstay tubes but were then removed from design with the later 1991 and 1992 models. With ground Master they finally got i right with shorter chainstays and letting go of the rear platform design that used to cut about an inch off of pegs length. Those platforms were classic and beautiful in shape and design but were very disfuntional if you had something more up-to date tricks in mind. Some of the early 90's flatland pros riding ground Master were guys like Danny Meng, Bill Nitschke, Jesse Puente, Leif Valin etc.
Nothing that special going on here, a very, very typical early 90's flatland ride which in my opinion marked the end of decent looking freestyle frames as the 90's started and bikes turned ugly. The picture hopefully speaks for itself.
