I never keep all my nice bikes except, my old rickman freestyler and my dp firebird delta II from when i was a kid. - thay are survivors.
This is my 'RAT BIKE' - the one that gets used when i ride to the newsagents for some beer or fall off when i go around my mates house and get p155ed - or both.
Its a MT racing silver fox which i saved from Redditch refuse tip. ( some bird was ditching it as i was there so i commandeered it )
the other bits i fished out of my garage - with various levels of battering over 20 years.
reynolds 500 twin top tube bars ( from halfords about 1986 )
diacompe levers
mx quick release brake calipers ( ebay £8.95)
sr cranks
shimano sx pedals
hwa fong tyres
odyssey rusty seat post
gt super soft seat
mag wheels ebay - NEW! £20.00
copy mallet stem
BIG THANKS TO ZED4130 FOR THE DONATION OF A REAR WHEEL BY THE WAY - IT WILL BE USED IN THE VERY NEAR FUTURE.

no probs about the wheel mate, the bike looks good mate :daumenhoch: i think abit better than a rat bike though :daumenhoch:
-
Wow, those bars are amazing!
-the led light really sets off the rat look too...
All my rat bikes are 26inchers.
Hey you dont fancy selling those cranks do you?
Ive been after a gold takagi for a while..
-
when did you find that?
-
Here are 2 bikes I used to get about on, lock up in town, that kind of thing. The 24" is for short distance and the 26" for anything more than a few miles.
This is a 97 A-head Challenger 24" with a set of wheels I borrowed of a mate when his 24" CW folded in half, a high fat seat with QR clamp, lights and zip tied on pads.

This is/was a British Eagle Boss. I used what ever BMX parts I could on it but left on the rear gears (with a skateboard wheel to keep the chain on, sprung seat, road tyres and a massive shim so I could use a 1" shafted stem in a 1 1/4 forks.

Looks like a Hutch stem!
-
lol alex you crack me up what no aerospeeds :LolLolLolLol:
the stems lol nutter
-
Check out hawk eyes! Its a deep H stem. I did have Hutch pedals with toe straps bolted down under the cage bolts. It was fine till someone left a note on my bike asking if I wanted to sell them, so I thought I should take them off. I have also taken of the Hutch stem now and Ive got a DK on there (I think).
The cranks are Diamondback Turbo lite arms, with plenty of coke can "shims" under them cos they are a little worn.
-
Coke can shims!!!! Not done that for years!
-
hey alex, do fancy parting with the 24" challenger?
