Guys,
I got a '96 DK frame that I might build up (the one with the charger decals). I know the were only frame & forks but what would be considered a reasonable build for a bike like this???
Thanks
Stace :daumenhoch:

Yes please mate, I'ma take my time getting the bits because I'm planning to get a couple on the go !!
Cheers Bud !
-
nice one,
i've been hoping someone would do a mid school general lee!
dk made alot of there own parts bitd, the polished dirt stem is a must have, dirt fork would be good too,
there hubs were pretty good and would make a nice wheelset with some sun bfrs-rhynolites, you could even sneak some chrome big cities on there,
you could also checkout primo's son-of-bomb wheels,
profile style 3pc cranks, even early primo powerbites would work, i
would slams or primo moes/moustache be mid enough?
iron cross chainring and pedals?
looking forward to seeing this one! :daumenhoch:
let me know if you need some bike pic-scans for inspiration,

Those are the originals and in my opinion the only decent ones! They should never have changed them!

the later generals were shiite.
the one you've got there is an original usa built model, great frame, very strong!
they made the S.O.B around the same time, that thing was a monster! only person i ever saw ride one hard was jersey taylor!
the sticker set might be a little tough to track down, i've been searching for you already,
if you used the later type stickers for a resto i think there would probably only be dicks like me who'd point it out,
they'd do untill a set pooped up somewhere(usa e-bay),
great frame though, thanks for the pics,
-
That frame looks great and would look even better repainted, perhaps getting a set of decals repro'd might be the answer :daumenhoch:. As they are two colours maybe Del could help you out although you might have to get the artwork done but they look pretty straight forward :-\.
-
They might be difficult to reproduce, the toptube sticker has a picture of the General Lee, like i said, best ever DK frame and stickers!

Couldn't see that, but hey - at least he'd be close :LolLolLolLol:
-
Got to be worth a stab!
-
Time to set up a favourite search on the bay for the decals !!
-
