Title: OLD SCHOOL SUMMER SERIES ROUND 2
Post by: RATTY on April 02, 2007, 11:49 PM
So we are off to the himalayas this Sunday, with round 2 of the Old School Summer series touching down at Hayes in middlesex.

I cant be there this weekend but good luck to all and lets stay injury free.

Oh registeration I think closes at 11am, I will alter this post if I find out different tomorrow :daumenhoch:

The track is located within Lake Farm Country Park, Dawley Road, Hayes.

From M4 (1.5 miles)

1. Exit at Junction 3 [A312 Hayes] and follow the dual carriageway to the first roundabout. Stay to the left and at the first roundabout take the first exit [A437 Hillingdon]

From M40/A40 (5.5 miles)

1. Exit at the A40 Target Roundabout [A312 Hayes] and follow the dual carriageway [Caution:Bus Lane Cameras]. At the first roundabout take the second exit [A312] Proceed straight across the next roundabout [A312] and continue under the underpass for 2 miles [Caution:Speed Cameras] Get in the right hand lane as you cross the flyover. Take the third exit [A437 Hillingdon] at the next roundabout.

2. Follow the A437 through three sets of lights, till you reach another roundabout.

3. Take the third exit [A437] and cross over the railway bridge. You are now on Dawley Road. Follow the road down past Dagenham Motors and straight on at the next two roundabouts.

4. The entrance can be found on your right shortly after passing the Woolpack Pub.

Or follow a car with 6 bikes on the roofrack, with 6 Brixton boys packed inside  :daumenhoch:

Just got the call from Spillers, so I'm just off to pick the tubby bitch and what's left of his thumb up from hospital. Everything has been screwed back where it should be and all is well.
It was touch and go for a while though. Apparently it took a team of highly trained surgeons a good few hours to prize his thumb from his arse before they could start work.

What a fooooooooking great day.  I loved it and judging by the smiles on peoples faces, so did everyone else.  How big were the Himalaya's?  The first time over them scared the shite out of me.  Apart from that It is a great track, loads of grip in the corners and fast as you like.
Everyone was ridding well today in the OS class, and the standard is getting better by the week. Well done Jim and Russ for your wins in the finals, and everyone else for not breaking any bones this week.  :4_17_5:
My mate Tim took loads of pictures, here are a few of us lot.

The youngest rider is Dan, 796s sprogg, he is only 12 and wont ride new school, he loves the old bikes, I think he thinks he stands a chance against Flaz, they have matching name tags :2funny:

Dan you should get him down there, he is lucky to have a dad like yourself who spends time on his hobbies.

I spent my youth riding at Rom, building ramps or riding street. My parents never took any interest. It was all off my own back.

As I said before my first ever race on a track was at MK last year, and after being to a few regionals now I am so gutted I never got into it BITD. It is a great scene and a good alternative to the freestyle.

The good thing about it is that you ain't pushing yourself like you do with the freestyle you are trying to beat everyone else, so you have to pushing yourself out of your comfort zone.

The top pick is sick, it's rikki gunner (Dave the Hayes starter man's youngest). He's too cool to race these days, but I love watching him ride.

Second pic is Scott Waterhouse who rides for dialled bikes, he took a year out to do some motox, but by the riding he was doing on Sunday he's right back on it.
