So we are off to the himalayas this Sunday, with round 2 of the Old School Summer series touching down at Hayes in middlesex.
I cant be there this weekend but good luck to all and lets stay injury free.
Oh registeration I think closes at 11am, I will alter this post if I find out different tomorrow :daumenhoch:
The track is located within Lake Farm Country Park, Dawley Road, Hayes.
From M4 (1.5 miles)
1. Exit at Junction 3 [A312 Hayes] and follow the dual carriageway to the first roundabout. Stay to the left and at the first roundabout take the first exit [A437 Hillingdon]
From M40/A40 (5.5 miles)
1. Exit at the A40 Target Roundabout [A312 Hayes] and follow the dual carriageway [Caution:Bus Lane Cameras]. At the first roundabout take the second exit [A312] Proceed straight across the next roundabout [A312] and continue under the underpass for 2 miles [Caution:Speed Cameras] Get in the right hand lane as you cross the flyover. Take the third exit [A437 Hillingdon] at the next roundabout.
2. Follow the A437 through three sets of lights, till you reach another roundabout.
3. Take the third exit [A437] and cross over the railway bridge. You are now on Dawley Road. Follow the road down past Dagenham Motors and straight on at the next two roundabouts.
4. The entrance can be found on your right shortly after passing the Woolpack Pub.
Or follow a car with 6 bikes on the roofrack, with 6 Brixton boys packed inside :daumenhoch:

-
just got back from hospital.....got to have a screw in me thumb and reatach me ligament :crazy2:still can't beleive how i got through the rest of the moto's a semi and a final....although i was in a lot of pain but i couldn't give you nutters to much of a head start with points :D
-
i cant make this one either
-
Just got the call from Spillers, so I'm just off to pick the tubby bitch and what's left of his thumb up from hospital. Everything has been screwed back where it should be and all is well.
It was touch and go for a while though. Apparently it took a team of highly trained surgeons a good few hours to prize his thumb from his arse before they could start work.

I've got the bit of pedal that broke, it was recovered from the track, apparently the first aid guy wanted to stop the racing because he could see it sticking up :10_2_12:
-
What a fooooooooking great day. I loved it and judging by the smiles on peoples faces, so did everyone else. How big were the Himalaya's? The first time over them scared the shite out of me. Apart from that It is a great track, loads of grip in the corners and fast as you like.
Everyone was ridding well today in the OS class, and the standard is getting better by the week. Well done Jim and Russ for your wins in the finals, and everyone else for not breaking any bones this week. :4_17_5:
My mate Tim took loads of pictures, here are a few of us lot.

Now, here are a few of the new school riders. I was totally blown away by the speed, and skill of some of the riders today. The mens elite was breathtaking to watch, and their jumping abality over the himalayas was out of this world

fellas, gotta say this, like my thread about credit to ratty last weak,
you've got the racing scene flying, your making it like freestyle now
what with the pics and vids and a story as to what the day was like :4_17_5:
your making me very jealous watching this, just had a chat with billy
and he wants a go and wants me at daggers with him to have a race ;)
-
Well done Billy Boy....... get yer dad on 20" too, Ive been waiting years to see him back on the track >:D :2funny:
-
dan he can borrow me torker if he wants for a race
-
i didnt realise there was some very young riders in the old school, i.e. lee, only bloody 31 ffs if my heart rate got up to that speed i would pass out, but on the other hand we got flaz who is at least 42 and still has hiw wife put his name tags in his new silver shiny race suit just incase anybody should find him rolling around at the side ofthe track, fecking top day, cant wait to have a wobble with the old people
-
i didnt realise there was some very young riders in the old school,
The youngest rider is Dan, 796s sprogg, he is only 12 and wont ride new school, he loves the old bikes, I think he thinks he stands a chance against Flaz, they have matching name tags :2funny:

Dan you should get him down there, he is lucky to have a dad like yourself who spends time on his hobbies.
I spent my youth riding at Rom, building ramps or riding street. My parents never took any interest. It was all off my own back.
As I said before my first ever race on a track was at MK last year, and after being to a few regionals now I am so gutted I never got into it BITD. It is a great scene and a good alternative to the freestyle.
The good thing about it is that you ain't pushing yourself like you do with the freestyle you are trying to beat everyone else, so you have to pushing yourself out of your comfort zone.

The top pick is sick, it's rikki gunner (Dave the Hayes starter man's youngest). He's too cool to race these days, but I love watching him ride.
Second pic is Scott Waterhouse who rides for dialled bikes, he took a year out to do some motox, but by the riding he was doing on Sunday he's right back on it.
