right! the dust seems to have settled over the icon issue. now tell us without bitin', scratchin', pulling hair, bitch slappin' or punchin' each other what you think is the most classic of all rides :10_2_12: here's a little help from the online dictionary to decipher the word"classic"......."One that is of the highest rank or class".
basically what you couldn't have as a snot nosed 13 year old (unless sponsored) but would drop your left nut for
-
As a 13 year old the ultimate bike for me had to be the Hutch Pro Star it was an unbelievable amount of money for a bike (at the time).
.....and not a very good bike as it turns out!

Back in the very early 80's I had a Team Murray.
There were 2 lads whose bikes I used to drool over:
One was a deep red Kuwahara KZ 1 or 2 with gold parts and the other was a Redline Carrera
Both of these represented the ultimate classic BMX icon
-
burner with bars way forward
-
pk ripper most definately
-
Most classic of all rides, for me it has to be the skyway T/A.
-
jmc shadow
smoked chrome gt pro
GHP pro (coz the forks were so fookin lush)
-
T/A white with tuffs.

for me it is the "pk ripper" 'the first time i saw one was in bmx action in 1982 'and then buff used one 'so i knew one day i would have one 'i finnally got one in 84 it was and still is the best bmx ive ever owned :daumenhoch: so now doubt for me the ripper :daumenhoch:

I think they changed as we learnt more, my first classic was a supergoos2, then a Carrerra 2, I do think the bike that reflects the most wanted, classic bike is what Zed said, the Ripper :daumenhoch:
-
-SUPERGOOSE 111 :4_17_5:

BITD I was lucky enough to have a Patterson Pro with chrome 7x's, Profiles, the works basically would deffo drop my left nut to have that back :LolLolLolLol:
The bike I always wanted but never had was a Hutch Pro Racer, my mate had one and I always like the way it looked and handled; I always thought and still do think that they are a cracking bike :daumenhoch:

-
for me it was the mk1 supergoose, the teamgoose and the PK ripper
all way beyond my paper round money :'(
-
I have a choice of a few:
Redline Carerra
Haro Gen 1
Skyway TA
PK Ripper
-
Black chrome GT pro all the way
-
afraid i gotta agree with pete, the performer for me :daumenhoch:
-
gt performer (yellow of coarse)
t/a
kuwahara et
mongoose motomag
-
It was definitely the Skyway T/A for me, until I bought one at 13.
I'm about to build a Gen 1, so that only leaves the GT Pro Performer out of my magical three.
So Pro Performer it is then.
HRD
-
redline prolineII (carerra was the complete bike)
team mongoose
GT pro
yep. that sums it up. i just have the GT to find (i'll have to change my signature when i get one :coolsmiley:) and the team goose is getting a fresh coat of candy blue soon :smitten:
-
Everyone wanted a Mongoose :daumenhoch:
-
all depends on when you got hooked on bmx
from 1979,it was the motomag or the redline mx2
then in 80/81 it was the loopy PK
the whole SE racing ideal gets me still even after 25 +yrs
i know what....................
im off to 1983
and im gonna go and ask meself
ill let you all know the outcome laters :daumenhoch:
-
Looking at what everyone else is posting ,I'm agreeing with them all
Black chrome Gt ( I had the horn bad for them)
Leary turbo (oh yes )
PK ( who didn't love em)
Kuwi laserlite ( gentlemans relishin tackle )
but you said 'drop your left bollock for 'well I remember it well......
It had to be the T/A with graphites (Trouser tent time)
And yet ,now I'm older I haven't had the urge to get mi paws on one
Don't know why !
