Title: --- Can you dye grips?

Anyone know if the old Dylon dip will also dye soft rubber grips?

I just wanna turn some red to black...

This has been asked a few times and the concensus has been no, but no-one has posted any piccy's of failed attempts.

I may see if I can find some knackered old grips and throw them in with some tuffs soon to see!!

Thanks Paul - just spoke to Pete, he said Dordy Dave had a go and they melted! Which I suppose common sense would say they would, being soft rubber in boiling water...

I reckon you can, i just havent found the right chemicals or inks yet

the closest was an Ink , but it wouldnt dry very well

what about a permanent marker, worth a try on an old pair of grips :-\

I have tried a couple of inks , the normal faountain pen ink kinda works but not good enough to use , i tried a thicker printers ink ,looked good untill you touched them and you got ink everywhere

i have thought that a ink or dye must exist that can penetrate the compound enough to change colour ....

i will suss it

I'm sure it's gotta be possible.  just depends what colour you want your hands :)
