Chubby's right, Jay has had a terrible time of it - she won't be taking on any anodising work due to ill health

I know a guy who can do stuff but it's all in his own shed and a bit home brew. He has done some great stuff but I don't thinking is taking on work at the mo.

Problem is that's it's not an exact science when you don't know the composition of the Ali. There are a few other factors which can affect the final result like corrosion and we all want our stuff to be the exact shade it was bitd.

I wouldn't do it for love nor money, too many grumpy sods being picky about results  :-X

As Griff says, Jay has had a lot of health issues in recent months, and is still recovering.
The business continues but i think the stuff she took on for BMX has stopped as this was her personal sideline.
If I or Griff hear anything about continuing in future, we'll post it up on here.

Might be worth contacting Julian JJ Mortin, im not sure of his Rad Name, but you can find him on Facebook. Sure i heard he knows who does Anodising.

I painted it red just to get an idea but it didn't look right so I'm going to use the red chainring bolts I already have with the profile spider and polished chainring. Thanks for asking.

Ahhhhh Ratz , Ive got a load of stuff ready to go off to Jay & Ive just stumbled over this thread...  Got to be honest personally I think her work is ok not amazing but a good 7/10  Her colour matching is excellent but I don't think that she puts much time in to prepping..

Last time i sent her a calliper & there was some paint in the (dia compe lettering) on the back that i'd not fully gotten out,  she said she'd sort it before anodising & I was amazed when it came back to see that she 'd not & the paint was still there so id say i've had mixed results but overall happy...

Better look for somewhere locally if she's not going to be around for a while...

The first load of stuff i had done by Jay was absolutely perfect, especially considering the poor state of the alloy. Very quick turnaround time too. The last lot of stuff wasn't half as good and took ages, and that was with regular contact with her :(
Very sad, as for a while i couldn't big Jay up enough.

I was looking for an anodisers in the Mcr area and found one right under my nose...  a virtual stones throw from my gaff as it goes. Not used em yet but got stuff in the pipeline so I'll report back when I've had something done. Got two other builds I'm fookin about with at the minute so won't be anytime soon but did have a chat with the bloke though... said he does small one off jobs and said he's done quite a few bike parts for customers so all being well he may just be the man for the job...
