Title: Frame serial numbers?

What can be learnt from serial no's?

wanna find out build date & year on my Taj

Most people on here can decipher these on specific makes . I can on
MRD.  Not much use . Stick up the number somebody will help.

Most mid school bike serials don't tell you when they were made

On Hoffman's for example, you can tell by the design of the frame if it was se built (92-93) ramp room built (94-96) or made in Taiwan (96 onwards

Your Taj will either be a ramp room or Taiwan built

If ramp room the down tube gusset will have no stamp, if Taiwan made it will be stamped HB
