Back again for 2016 is the RADBMX London Summer Ride - Meeting at Waterloo Station at 12:00pm (outside the entrance nearest the big clock) Departing at 12:30pm :daumenhoch:
That's all I have for now, but wanted to get the date out there so people have a little bit of warning :teef:
Anyone that wants to pitch in and help us make this another memorable day out more than welcome, just let me know
Same goes for anyone that has any good ideas for new places to visit
-
11 months notice is about extreme, just been on Virgin trains looks like I can't book trains for 8 months!!!
-
Im in for sure , brilliant day out this year :4_17_5:
Nice one for the early date Griff , gives the Northern Monkeys loads of time to grab cheap rail travel and hotels etc :daumenhoch:
Im assuming it is a Saturday ?
-
I'm on it :daumenhoch:
As this is now a Northern monkey ride in London Village ;D ..
Can the leaving time be a little later :-\ give us time to travel down ;) .. just a suggestion mate :-*

Yes it is Joffy - have made the start time half an hour later just to try and make it a little bit easier for any monkeys travelling down on the day (Jono see if you can get a hotel vaguely near the station this time :teef: )
-
Can't wait :D hopefully my bike won't start falling to pieces this time. I'll come tooled up just in case!
-
Definately :daumenhoch:

Can't make it this year, mates stag do is on the same weekend, going up Newcastle for it :crybaby:
It was immense this year and I still smile when I think about it, gutted as was planning on staying over next year rather than going down for day on train.

I'm going to try and come down for the day to take part in this ride.
Does anybody know the location the ride ends and at approx. what time, so I can look at booking the return journey.
Also is anyone else from the Wirral area going on the train just for the day?
Cheers
Ryan
-
It will end back at Waterloo/Doggetts pub I expect (we go in a big loop)
Based purely on previous rides this could be around 7pm, but plenty of people stay over

I've looked at train fares today Ryan, it's looking like £55 return from North Wales.

Are there going to be some nice stickers for this one Griffster ? 8)
Well there is a design.. Inspired by one of the checkpoints ;)
As per last year, if we can find a friendly sticker supplier to do a run of these they might be worth a small charity donation, what do you reckon?
(http://i927.photobucket.com/albums/ad120/gr1ff1ngton/C8477498-C390-497D-A7F7-79122920B2CA_zpsvbm16ci0.jpg) (http://s927.photobucket.com/user/gr1ff1ngton/media/C8477498-C390-497D-A7F7-79122920B2CA_zpsvbm16ci0.jpg.html)
Of course we'll need to decide which charity to support ;)
-
Sounds like s plan Griff.. Looks good mate fistblump
-
Sounds like a great idea. I'll throw some cash in for charity if it means i can get my hands on a sticker.
It's been emotional.
-
Not long to go now :D get polishing those riders :daumenhoch:
-
Just got the ride registered with Macmillan Cancer Care, so we can get a couple of official collection tins :daumenhoch:

Assassin at the ready! Or maybe the DB pro? :-\

Doubt i'll have the GJS done by then :'(, so it'll be the VDC again :D. (I've sorted the seat post, and fitted a retaining nut to the inside of the bullseye spindle to prevent the cranks working loose again). I also got a puncture in my until 10 minutes earlier NOS tyres too. Not a good start to the ride. Thanks to those who helped fix my bike, and to the kind chaps who stopped to help me out and fix the puncture. You were diamonds :4_17_5: My first ever set of mechanical woes, and hopefully the last. Can't wait for this one explosion

Nice one Ant. We were fed like Kings last year. What was that dessert? Gin & tonic 'jelly' (can't remember the posh name), with a popping candy topping.
-
I'm hoping to try the new and improved fried chicken recipe when we stagger in after the ride explosion
-
I'm thinking about a salt beef bagel for lunch :P
-
Hell yeah!
-
It was real good last year boys .. Very tasty "wantit"

Sorry mister, thought I'd posted it :-[
Basically same route as last year, with a minor tweak to deal with the unfortunate closure of the Gun
Here you go :daumenhoch:

Just decided today sod it Rick and myself are on it :daumenhoch:
hotel is booked cant wait :daumenhoch:
Griff that looks a lot longer ride than last year :LolLolLolLol:
And wtf is a salt beef bagel? does it go with eels :LolLolLolLol:
-
Much better than eels Phil. They're hot for a start. Imagine a hot bagel stuffed full with melt in your mouth juicy meat. Similar to ham/gammon, but better. As Jews don't eat pork, they go for hot salt beef. I have mustard on it too. Amazing stuff. They do plain, chicken, cream cheese, smoked salmon bagels too for strange folk. Beigel Bake on Brick Lane is open 24 hours a day, and always busy. Food of the gods
-
Great news Phil :4_17_5:
Don't worry is pretty much same route as last year ;)
-
just give us a meat and tatty pie chips peas and gravy and stick ya bagel :LolLolLolLol:
I aint worried Griff i will probably just get drunk and lose you all again anyway :LolLolLolLol:
-
When in Rome Phil...
You have to try the local cuisine. A juicy saveloy sausage is always a treat. They're a rare treat anywhere north of Watford Gap. I draw the line at jellied eels though. Tried them a few years ago. Absolutely disgusting "nono"
-
I do remember having a hog roast barm, roll.tea cake.batch or whatever they are called last year :daumenhoch:
We are staying in a Lebanese owned hotel again had a fry up for brekki last year hope its the same :daumenhoch:
