He sold 2 last September for definate, as Ant (factory pilot) bought one of them, and it sold for a reasonable price (in my opinion)

I honestly couldn't say if his auctions are bidded up, but based on my knowledge of a few of the items he sells, I reckon there is enough genuine interest around to be fairly sure that the final selling price has been achieved fairly (on some of the items). I can't speak for all of his auctions onviously, but Jono won a VDC Changa Long frame & forks for £670 18 months ago on one of Neils ebay auctions. He'd (Neil) sold one 9 months earlier (albeit re-chromed, but a standard - not Long Changa for £1500).

Very Nice to look at but the majority of us will never afford any of his stuff off ebay?  :-\   Kind of fooks me off when he lists endless parts like when vert-ego used to do it a few years back? Tbh Its like watching the F1 on tv?............. I like watching the beginning but cant wait for the last lap to come around  :) and see who the winner was (or in his case how much it went for!  :D )

Neil ain't shill bidding it up, he gets what it's worth at the time on ebay, and I think the prices are coming down on some rare good stuff. His collection when it was at its peak was mental, remember seeing more flight cranks than redline actually have produced in total

Definitely dodgy auctions ,wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.
He certainly has some great stuff though, anyone know when and how he acquired it all?
Was it before the scene blew up and he got it all ultra cheap?
Or has he just got loads of money and went round buying everything?
Wasn't he on here for a while?
Remember some of his posts vaguely and he came across as a bit arrogant, reading between the lines.

Nice bloke met him , sold him a rare bmx item paid me up ,he bought most of it before the boom from USA , I think it's more likely as a radster said earlier other people are bidding and retracting just find out how much fellow bidders are bidding  as they want to make sure they are bidding enough to win it without overbidding , I've had a couple of things off the auctions not much but we're cheap enough I just think with the sort of top level stuff he has he just gets the big hitters buying so it fetches big bucks , but jeez he's had some gear how many redlines had he got

Happened again to me on three separate items. One of them my bid was withdrawn. Don't know why as it's still listed. Sent a message as to why and got ignored. I don't think I will be making a bid on anything else. :(

No, the ugliest freestyler is s a CW Freestyler, or maybe not! This all in eye of the beholder. I have a VDC Freestyler and there's lots of differences between the F+F sets, and some of them do look awful. As a frame set their not as easy on the eye as a GT pro performer or a Haro Master. Have a butchers at this VDC Freestyler entry to May BOTM:

http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,182180.0.html

That's a very good looking bike.

IMO the ugly ones are the ones that the twin bottom tubes pass through the head tube and have the caps on the end. I think the value that people place upon them is due to their rarity more than anything else - I think a GT Pro Performer is beautiful but they don't attract anything like a compatible price because there's loads of them.

I see what your saying I know there are different versions the one with the two tubes piercing the headtube just lookks awful reminds me of an insect or bug of some sort. Dilybums build is quality nice parts just think the Frames are awful but each to there own if we all liked the same thing it would be boring.

I've bought some stuff off Neil's auctions & got them at fair prices, and been in contact with him before - never had any issues. But I can imagine he gets a shed load of queries about all that stuff. I sell stuff on eBay and get the strangest emails from 'buyers'... Many eBayers don't respond to messages so it's not an isolated seller. If you want something just buy it - his goods are good as anyone whose bought from him will tell you.

I have to agree Ian, and the second generation Freestyler's are hideous, like they are just thrown together. And what's with the spilt crank arms  :crazy2:

With eBay you have 2 choices
Snipe bid at the last fookin moment & hope the listing doesn't end early
Bid early and hope the listing doesn't get shilled to fook

In both cases though I just make sure I stick to my max bid

I tend to put one bid in, but why would he withdraw bids and keep it listed?

Using another account to find out someone's top bid, withdrawing and then using a third account to bid upto the original bidders maximum, therefore increasing price.

Should be reported if happening regularly on his auctions

Yes

I bid my high bid.
I was winning at half the value of my bid.
I was overbid.
That bid was retracted immediately.
I was bid up to my maximum but not over it.
I retracted my bid late at night.
Overnight the bid that pushed me up was winning.
In the morning that bid was retracted and it dropped significantly in winning bid value.

I usually stick in a low bid early doors, then leave it until the last few seconds to avoid bids being removed etc. Risky, and you have to be certain on the max price you'd be happy to pay, but it works for me most of the time. I've bought an item from Neil (Wundawend), and didn't feel like i'd been scammed/shilled, so I was happy.... If you call paying £175 for a set of grips happy  :2funny:

I'd offered him £180 to end it early, and he said he'd let the auction run. I suppose he then know what my max bid would be in the region of... Oh well, I got what I wanted and was prepared to pay that price. Ant factory pilot won a GHP Pro 1 last year for what we both thought was a reasonable price.... Luck of the draw sometimes I suppose... Am not saying it's right though - if it's an auction, it should be fair. If you're not prepared to let an item sell for less than a certain amount, then start the auction at that price. There will always be people who are prepared to pay good money for quality items.

Agree completely

I've never dealt with the guy but as with everything on eBay, in fact any secondhand buying for that matter, especially online , it's definitely "buyer beware"! He does have some nice eye candy though, I'll give him that!

I was watching a few redline frame sets he had a fair while ago they all had bids on and there was no reserve.

A few weeks later they were back on ebay with the him selling them,  I know they were the same frames as one had a very distinctive feature.

go figure that out, I can understand 1 item bring bought by a none payer but 3 all in one night. I can only presume he won his own items.

I stopped looking at his stuff after that and seeing this thread it sounds about right

subwax and controversy are never far apart. Too much smoke for there to be never a fire involved. Touch and bargepole spring to mind when it comes to subby.

I've won some mint re-chromed starbars and a GHP PRO LONG in the last few months off him for
£450 which is pretty reasonable these days.

So it was you who out bid me on the GHP Pro Long  :knuppel2:   :D

Star bars are worth about £200 in original chrome and decals but, they are dramatically reduced when been re-chromed, especially if the decals are repops.
