Hi all. I know the VDC Changa needs a smaller diameter headset than most BMX's. I know some people use Campagnolo headsets, but looking on ebay it seems a bit of minefield. Some are listed as having 'British' threads, others with 'Italian' threads. Does anyone know which is the correct thread type/threads per inch? Is there a particular model of Campagnolo headset that I should be looking for? Alternatively, is there another brand of headset I can use, that is era correct, or looks era correct? Thanks in advance - hoping someone can help.

is it not just the headset cups are different sizes? can you try a normal headset to see if the threads are the same.

Andy :) There was a guy on Ebay selling NOS 1" threaded BMX headsets for around a tenner ,,, which technically I suppose they were , but really they were MTB headsets as they were the small diameter 1" . They only fit a handful of BMX , so loads of people who bought them will have been very dissapointed .
Unless they had a Piranha ;)

They take a Road Bike headset, slightly smaller size cups, etc. Easy and cheap to find in bike shops and on gayBay. An early Tange or Campagnolo one would be appropriate. Someone on here had some Tange ones for sale a while back, may have been Monkian but can't be sure.

Campagnolo Novou, British thread if I recall correctly. :daumenhoch:
Double check with the VDC guru Steve69 though Andy.

Thanks Chris. I saw that he was selling one, as i've bought the repop pads he was selling. To be honest i thought the asking price seemed a bit high. Looked on ebay and saw a few for sale. Thought i'd be able to pick up a bargain, but they sold for £50 +. I'll have a think, but may end up getting Paul's. At least i defo know that it fits!
