Hey guys, can someone help me out? I have tried to fit 2 different headset cups into my frame, and they are both loose ! The inner diameter of the head tube on my 88' detour looks to be 1 and a quarter inch. Can someone post a link to the correct headset / cups so I can buy the correct cups?
My forks are 1 inch threaded, so I bought a standard cheap tange headset. All is good apart from cup size is too small for my dyno head tube :uglystupid2: :'(
Now I need to find another damn headset or cups the correct size, which I guess is 32.8mm ?
Any help is appreciated as I need to get the bike built soon to enter the dyno build off on here --> http://bmxmuseum.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=561882&p=1

1 1/8" more likely, as most mid school are :daumenhoch:

88 should still be 1" threaded nick, don't think 1 1/8th was used on 88's
My 88 beat is 1"
Not even sure 1 1/8th had even been thought of in 88 ???

Maybe it's been scraped out!
Sound odd.

My mate rode with a piece of leather belt in his stem to stop his CW copy handlebars from slipping forward every time he jumped or bunny hopped :idiot2:

Alan sells YST headsets with 32.7mm cups so I think I will have to try one of them. Bloody bikes ! I wanted to get building this weekend, I should have done a parts mock up before sending the bike to Dan !! :P >:( :D :)
Shit happens ! :LolLolLolLol:
