But he is awesome  :4_17_5:

Ok cool, im no rush but wasn't sure if he  still did them?

Will wait patiently until he's ready  :daumenhoch:

He has said recently that he doesn't want people to leave it till the padset is the last part of their build, to order.

I'm guessing he's referring to big shows like the Cool Flo and MK and everyone wanting bikes ready for them.

I think this could be his last year mate.

Steve's been making pad sets to a standard that has never been matched or even close for 10 years, but has been so busy with his real job that he just hasn't got the time to churn them out as quick as before.

It seems that certain members of the community, don't understand that these pads are hand made, to order, and not just picked from a shelf in a stock room. As a result, poor Steve has faced criticism from these people as they weren't happy about His turnaround time, so he's decided to throw the towel in.

Shame really how a few dickheads don't appreciate a good thing when it's handed to them, and fook it up for everyone.

Shame if he's packing it in  :(
But family / leisure time comes before bmx & money IMO
Put your feet up for a bit Steve & see how you feel  :)

As above stated these are built to order , the last set I had off Steve
The handlebar pad was made to fit my specific bars  :4_17_5:

Well said Dan. Echoes what Nick was on about in the Curtis thread. Can't argue with the guys decision, it's a shame that not everyone appreciates the service provided.
I'd love the option to order pads from him, but you have to respect the guys decision based on how people have treat him. Remember folks it's his hobby not his business.
I'm not saying it all again.....but if you Dick guys like this off, the whole community ends up a poorer place. :'(

If he's had enough he's had enough . I'd buy his gear and have a go

That's a real shame, his work was well worth waiting for how ever long it took.

My bikes are gonna be naked now :(

Dan, so do you know if this is 100% confirmed by Steve that he's no longer doing them, or is he just taking a step back/thinking about finishing. He's done a few sets for me in the past. I emailed him a few days ago, but have also haven't had a reply yet. If he is indeed no longer doing them, are there any rad members who would take up the challenge? I'd be up for it from a design point of view, but don't think i could afford the equipment. Any idea what's needed? Craig, you have my support and thanks if you'd like to have a go.

And to those people who got on Steve's back about his turnaround time- thanks for ruining it for the rest of us. I've always found Steve great to deal with, and his turnaround time was reasonable, seeing as the pads are/were a sideline. Steve's a top top bloke imo from what little i know about him from our few dealings.

I'm not sure if this his decision is final Andy, but those who know Steve will appreciate that if he does decide to call it a day, that it won't be  decision taken lightly.

Steve, as with the rest of us, has a genuine love for the hobby, he's not made so many pad sets because he's good at printing and sewing, he is dedicated to OS BMX, hence the DP site, decals, and the display stands he's done at MK etc. But, if it get's to a point where he's getting shitty emails, PayPal disputes and impatient people in general harming his reputation making ridiculous comments, then I don't blame him for sacking it off, and I for one will respect his choice.

It's sad, but real life is at times Gentlemen. :daumenhoch:

Well said Dan - I couldn't agree with you more. Thanks for the info  :)
And thanks Steve for all you do for RAD and the wider community  :4_17_5:.

That's a real shame. Was hoping to utilise his services for the first time.   :(

I have had a lot of pad sets off Steve. They have always been spot on and was only thinking the other day about getting some more for future builds. Will be a shame if he does pack it in. But as said I will understand his decision.  :)

steve did a padset for me about 2 months ago which was repayment for me supplying a role of blue vinyl, when I spoke to him he said he was busy with work and only gets about 4 orders a month for pads now whereas back along it was about 5- 10 a week!!shows how much old school has slowed down :-\
