Just bought myself a speedwagon frame a few weeks back and have just been informed I may have problems running a 44-16 on it due to chain clearence issues. Any other radsters got one of these or encountered it?

My standard is touch and go with a 44:16 Matt.

Gonna run a 41:15 on it or the Speedwagon soon

I prefer the bigger gears up front myself, I think the problems lies with external BB's. Ive seen some posts on vintage regarding the issue and that a DXR crank or a profile spline drive with the offset spider should run ok. I just wasnt planning on splashing out on a new crankset aswell just to suit the frame.

I run Profile external bb/spline drive on mine 41-15 but reckon 44 should be fine?

Im guna order some bossless profile arms with the external BB from the US later in the month so fingers crossed.

went 44-16 on mine with no problem

Thanks Bren its a 21.25 but measures more like 21.5

I might be selling my frame its brand new in the box, black with a 21.75 top tube if you are interested in one, £275 posted recorded.
