Title: Super Tuff Burner
Post by: rockinwookie on April 14, 2013, 10:42 PM
Just bought a Raleigh Super Tuff burner from a guy who's had it in his shed for I dont know how long.

It's literally got all the stock parts except the back tyre, Unbelievable and it seems like this bike has been in a time machine.

It has rust and pitting here and there and the gold is peeling but other than that just needs a good clean...What to do, build it or sell it? mmmmm

It will also save on time not stripping and all the arsing about multiple packaging and posting - I fooking despise that. >:(

Fook me the bars are fooked anyway!!I agree with the others,it is a nice original survivor much like the one I found my mate a little while ago.We just ended up putting a new bb,headset, chain, cables, pads n tyres on it and it rides mint.I stripped the gold off the bars as it was peeling bad, hence i was asking about yours. If you decide to go down the resto route, the gold finish-which is a translucent powdercoat is £90 to get re-done,you will have to strip the old gold off though and give the frame a polish beforehand. We were just too lazy and he wants to ride it with his kids so decided we would do a full resto in a few years once he has had some fun on it!Original parts are reasonably priced too and easily available. :daumenhoch:

One or 2 tweaks in the sun today....

Changing the crappy back tyre made a big difference:
