Well I do like a rare 1! This is a 1990 haro sport, very rare bird indeed!!
To most it just looks like any other haro sport that range from 90-95 but the diff are it has the same alloy bash plate as the 89 master, same style decals as the master, fork standers and a coaster tab at the rear, I'm really chuffed to have got my hands on this as they don't come up much, I don't even think they sold them in the uk, I've only seen 1 other in this country but I could be wrong!!,
I've got some pretty special parts for this so next step will be a full resto so I will send it off to sbd at some point, hope you like!!

Sweet Olly :daumenhoch:

Yes these are rare. The plate is the same as a 90 master. ;)
The platform is a flat plate like the early masters and sports not the oval plate.
They were only produced for the us market so they are rare to find over here. I know that at least 10 of them were imported over here. My mate Tim bone was one of those people that ordered them.
They don't have peg mounts in the forks like the master which is strange. And the flip up pegs have gone in favour of standers the same as an 85. But the fork shape is the same style as the 89/90 shape with the tapered legs.
Dare I say it but those forks are probably the rarest set of Haro forks ever produced.
The frame was designed for Haro by a top British rider called lee Reynolds. I was lucky to hang about with him for a bit when he lived in Milton Keynes. He is now a top club DJ in the states.
A great little find Ollie. :daumenhoch:
I know of one other of these which surfaced early last year in Wales. But didn't buy it as the seller fooked me about a bit. If I was closer I would have gone and payed cash and picked it up. But he kept changing his mind on the price and if he was going to sell it. :(
-
Awesome. Looking forward to seeing this come together. :daumenhoch:
-
Thanks for the info stu, I'm sure I read somewhere that it was a 89 plate, but I've never seen either till now so your prob right!!;)
-
A welcome addition to the Rad bashy club Oliver!
Are you having the og colour re applied?
-
Here are the correct decal scans that have been sized. They are for the black version. I supplied these to Robbo for his one recently. :daumenhoch:

You could fit what you want. These were only available as frame sets for around 6 months. Then they bought out the 91 full bike version that several people have built on here. :)
-
I've got everything for it stu, just not sure on the colour of the brakes bars etc, as the cranks I've got are polished, then maybe polish everything else, tho yellow and black always looks good!
-
Sounds good. Yellow black and chrome/polished. :daumenhoch:
I don't think I have seen a yellow one restored. Everyone does them black as it is easier.
I think I prefer the black version though. :)
-
That's really cool :daumenhoch: I remember talking to Lee about the Sport He was helping Haro with at a bfa comp in 89? (He was staying in the US at the time) It was Black iirc & didn't have those type of forks on it. In fact I'm not even sure they were haro forks!

nice rare find olly 8)
can't wait to see this built up :daumenhoch:

You know we love you Olly and are just 'well jell' of your builds 8)
What worries me is that the things you don't want ... I seem to be buying ... and I can't CAN'T buy any more
... my thoughts on this ( serious now ) are that yeah its rare, but the graphics no way compare to a 91 ... they just seem a bit boring compared to the ol'stretch photocopier 91 style that was happening graphically at the time  just my thought :)
Like this beauty :-)

I agree with you ed the graphics are nowhere near as good but there cool in the own way, kinda old school, plus I've still go 91 decals in my life anyways,

I agree with both of you, I got mine fitted and while they are nice I do sometimes think should I have fitted 91's on it.... :daumenhoch:

I probably wont bother, I've been thinking about a custom paint job which I might get done in the summer. :daumenhoch:
-
What you thinking? It's a hard 1 isn't it? Ithought about doing somthing custom with the parts but I don't like to stray to far from og era colours...

nice Ed, is that yours? ???
A lady never tells Rob ;D
-
i kinda like the original stickers more than the newer ones.
i think they suit it that colour
-
I actually like these frames (shocker I know) as far as the decals go for me certain decals look better on different colour frames. Both look great on black. Anyway, how mush stick can that bashguard take ?
-
About the same as any other frame of the time, not a lot if You rode it like You meant it :LolLolLolLol:
-
I was having a good chat with Dennis wing ham the other night about these style frames, and he said they where pants and had frames only last 1day lol
-
Mr Wingham is right. They were pretty pants. Darren Gascoyne had the black and red 91. He built it on Friday. By Sunday the rear was bent after a 900 attempt at Nottingham. Whoops. ;D
Anyway it does t really matter when they are show ponies that go out on the occasional show or pub ride. :daumenhoch:
Anyway I'm not surprised Dennis bent a few of them. He was bonkers at Southsea. That man ruled the bowls. :4_17_5:
